Btw, the other Hypnos gal's name is Tally. And she finally got her day in the sun instead of Reika / Riley.
Oh, and that "Heart is a Digivice" ad? That's not it. They edited it to seem less like a fever dream. So... go back! It's before this.
On an up note:
Naked Henry live broadcast all over the world is a very very good idea.
Shadow of the Beast King
let's up the stakes... to the fate of two worlds... sounds familiar As long as we're here, there's hope [...] I learned that from your sons and daughters. They don't give up and they fight with their hearts and souls. the parents find out that they're actually *merging* with the digimon. heh, forgot to mention that little detail, didn't ya, kids?
Give me the strength I need! echoes of the past
Jeri! Take his hand!!! the same hand that killed Leomon
NoOOooooo.... I predicted it, but NOOOO! Not NOW!
Jesus... House flashbacks to Schuldig and Gieve and Cye on the lawn...
I'll go and tremble somewhere else, thanks... (or keep working on the Henry shrine! Woo hoo! Expect ai zai ren jian soon, "ai zai" for short.)
After a full day of perusing Henry information, I stumbled back into Lelola and found the "Forever Project" had been updated. Basically... okay, it's a pathetically fannish way to remember past Digimon seasons. But you know... it's needed. Digimon could go for long minutes without anything substantial happening, and then rock your existence in two seconds. It was such an experience to see episodes for the first time. And, like Bebop, they quit while they're ahead. On to a new universe.
Old school, we still love you. The fire's still burning. Has it been only a year?
This is a lovely wallpaper from Lelola, which pretty much hits everything I loved about 02. The words are from an ad campaign from Fox Kids... a pretty damn cool ad campaign. Anything that starts with ravens scattering and has a dramatic Williams-esque violin line... and for a children's show! I *want* that ad. If anyone has it sitting in their video library, go get it to someone who can convert it to a movie format, and put it up up up! (I'm also looking for that elusive "Your Heart is Your Digivice" Tamers ad, which I swear is an acid trip. Not the leaping giant bunny one, but like that.)
An exclusive interview with Stephen Jay Blum. Nnggghhh! It's not listed there, but he's also the voice of Spike from Bebop. Steeeevvveee. What a teddy bear. What a VOICE.
In other news, Aussie is now a Green Kau. How now?
all i know is i want to talk to you till i close my eyes
(There's also an awesome screen saver of Faye lighting Spike's cig with these lyrics. Worth finding.)
Somewhere Down The Crazy River
copyright Robbie Robertson
Yea, I can see it now
The distant red neon shivered in the heat
I was feeling like a stranger in a strange land
You know where people play games with the night
God, it was too hot to sleep
I followed the sound of a jukebox coming from a levee
All of a sudden I could hear somebody whistling
Fromright behind me
I turned around and she said
"Why do you always end up down at Nick's Cafe?"
I said "I don't know, the wind just kind of pushed me this way."
She said "Hang the rich."
Catch the blue train
To places never been before
Look for me
Somewhere down the crazy river
Somewhere down the crazy river
Catch the blue train
All the way to Kokomo
You can find me
Somewhere down the crazy river
Somewhere down the crazy river
Take a picture of this
The fields are empty, abandoned '59 Chevy
Laying in the back seat listening to Little Willie John
Yea, that's when time stood still
You know, I think I'm gonna go down to Madam X
And let her read my mind
She said "That Voodoo stuff don't do nothing for me."
I'm a man with a clear destination
I'm a man with a broad imagination
You fog the mind, you stir the soul
I can't find, ... no control
Catch the blue train
To places never been before
Look for me
Somewhere down the crazy river
Somewhere down the crazy river
Catch the blue train
All the way to Kokomo
You can find me
Somewhere down the crazy river
Somewhere down the crazy river
Wait, did you hear that
Oh this is sure stirring up some ghosts for me
She said "There's one thing you've got to learn
Is not to be afraid of it."
I said "No, I like it, I like it, it's good."
She said "You like it now
But you'll learn to love is later."
I been spellbound - falling in trances
I been spellbound - falling in trances
You give me shivers - chills and fever
I been spellbound - somewhere down the crazy river
Yesterday was good. Tiring, though with all that rain and cold. Lois remembered me, from four years ago's signing. I told her to watch out for my friend, who's been published. It felt oddly claustrophobic with all of geekdom there (and I say that with great love. ^^) The number of diopters in that shop could have blinded ten spiders. I felt... homesick and alien at the same time. I remember discussing Star Trek with that kind of passion. I remember wanting, desperately, to have my name on those book covers. New and used. I still do, but it's one of those things that'll happen when the muse sweeps me. It was claustrophobic, physically and mentally. "It's an alternate universe, based on Chinese mythology..." "I wouldn't mind watching episodes of Next Generation again." "Who was that woman who pretended to be an anime character? She was on the Sci-Fi channel..." "...in German you would call me by all my titles, Mrs. Doctor Professor..." "He's such a dork, he has nothing but Star Trek shirts. And you know how old he is?"
That used to be my world... and it still kind of is, on a less *cough* obsessive level. Haven't burned all those bridges. The stories are still my friends, I just don't own real estate there anymore. There is a liberating sense of mind there... but not so much a sense of tangibility. I can't specialize like that anymore, in pure distilled dreams, subject to outright cutthroat competition. Besides, it would be better to return to it with some experience under my belt.
Dreams need ground to seed.
I feel so *old*, as Miles ages. It's uncanny how that fanfic of mine was on the mark in the subtle ways (certainly not the overly angstadramatic Lady Raina plot, that was to "kill" off her muse-ghost. The link to it is probably still at http://www.dendarii.com ) But it's not so much that as... the life cycle. When you're young, you don't feel it... but since whoever I'm reincarnated from is obnoxiously ten years older than me, it rings less like a melodious bell and more like a hollow gong. Miles moves. Miles grows. Miles is... in his thirties?! Wasn't I just in high school when I started reading his adventures? My God.
We should have taken our chances back then, when we were young and beautiful and didn't even know it. ~ Diplomatic Immunity, Lois McMaster Bujold
Anyway. Pooh!
(Marineangemon is a Pixie type, apparently.)
